“I want to state on my resume that I am not a carver by profession, I got into this by accident. In my youth I sometimes painted, mainly animals. However, I always wanted to help people, so after basic military service I joined the Police of the Czech Republic. Here I went through all possible professions and ended up as a detective of the criminal service and investigation. I was with the Czech Police for 23 years. 4 years ago, I decided to try carving something myself. And as it happened, I borrowed a saw, got some wood, and my first wooden sculpture was created. I started to do this occasionally while working. And now from this year, that is 2024, from March, carving wooden sculptures is my livelihood. I quit my job and started working as a freelancer. Since I haven’t been cutting intensively for that long, I don’t have much experience with the symposium yet. I have been cutting only once and it was more of a meeting with friends, where I carved a wooden sculpture. I have no other experience.”
